Haris Rauf to lead Lahore Qalandars against PCB XI in exhibition match
Fakhar Zaman will also play for Qalandars
Right-arm pacer Haris Rauf will be the captain of Lahore Qalandars when they take on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) XI in an exhibition match in Narowal on May 28.
Qalandars announced their squad today which is led by their premium fast bowler Rauf. Qalandars' regular captain Shaheen Shah Afridi will not be available due to his county cricket commitment. He is representing Nottinghamshire in the ongoing Vitaly Blast 2023.
Opener Fakhar Zaman, emerging Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 players Tahir Baig and Ahsan Hafeez Bhatti will also feature in the match.
Meanwhile, Kamran Akmal, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Ilyas, Mohammad Akhlaq, Abbas Afridi, Abid Ali, Asif Ali, Sajid Khan, Ali Imran and Usman Qadir will be part of the PCB XI. Local and U19 players will also feature in the match.
An exhibition match, comprised of 10-over-a-side, is being arranged at Narowal Sports Complex to mark the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer. The match will start at 2:30 pm and will be telecasted live on PTV Sports.
The decision to organise the T10 match was taken last week during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Development & Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to be the guest of honour at the launching ceremony of the state-of-the-art Complex that provides the best international standard-setting for the athletes’ training.
