WAPDA celebrates victory against HEC -

QUETTA: Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) beat Higher Education Commission (HEC) by 45-41 to keep Gold medal hopes alive in basketball event of the ongoing 34th National Games here today.

In an enthralling contest, WAPDA and HEC showed impressive performance to keep audience on their toes. 

The two teams played strongly throughout the match but HEC lost the contest after coming too closer. WAPDA was leading with 45-41 in the last minute which remained pointless. 

After defeating HEC, WAPDA team keeps themselves in gold medal race. 

On the other hand, Pakistan Army beat Balochistan by 58-6 in the fourth match of the four-team event.

Army will now meet WAPDA tomorrow whereas HEC to lock horns with Balochistan in last match of the event. If WAPDA wins, they will bag Gold straightaway. In case of Army's victory, then Gold will be decided on the basis of points aggregate. 

Earlier on Tuesday, HEC upset Army by 47-35. After returning from six-year ban, HEC surprised Army with their power-packed performance.
