Manchester City midfielder Rodrigo has warned that the best is yet to come as his side gear up for the business end of the season.

After winning the Premier League, City will also feature in the final of FA Cup, against Manchester United, and UEFA Champions League, against Inter Milan, in the coming weeks.

“The best is yet to come,” Rodrigo was quoted as saying by mancity.com.

“We know there is a long way to go with two big finals. We have to prepare good. We can do it. We believe in ourselves – we have been working to arrive in these moments and we are prepared.

“The level is so, so high. The demand of the team, the effort, the sacrifice, the ambition, the hunger – everything, the coach, the players – unbelievable.

“This club is growing a lot every year and the hunger is there. We don’t lose this sacrifice. The players are humble. We want to achieve more things.

“We want more – we have two more finals, and we want to make it special.”

The Spanish player has won five major trophies since he joined City from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019.

“Each [trophy] one is so special.” Rodrigo added. “This year has been so, so tough with such a good rival. Arsenal were unbelievable.

“We never gave up and we always believed in ourselves. You always have to believe, and we are building a culture to win it every year and this is the most important thing.

“You can win titles in different ways but winning 14 games in a row shows our championship mode. The team is unbelievable.”
