Pakistani right-arm pacer Zaman Khan made an impressive start in the T20 Blast tournament as the pacer took two wickets on debut.
Playing for Derbyshire Falcons, Khan struggled in his first two overs as he conceded 31 runs. But he made a great comeback in his last two overs as he only conceded 10 runs while also picking two wickets.
Destructive Pakistani batter Haider Ali was part of the Falcons as well but he got out on the first ball of the tournament.
The Falcons scored 179-5 in 20 overs courtesy of Wayne Madsen’s classy 50 (35 balls) but the target did not seem enough on a good batting pitch as Lancashire scored 183/6 with four balls to spare after Luke Wells laid the foundation with an explosive knock of 66 runs in 35 balls, his maiden T20 half-century.
There are eight Pakistani players participating in the ongoing Vitality Blast.
Pakistan’s primary fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, 2017 Champions trophy hero Hasan Ali, left-handed opener Shan Masood, all-rounder Shadab Khan, left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar, leg spinner Usama Mir, young guns Haider Ali and Zaman Khan will be in action in the tournament which will last for nine weeks.
