Pakistan's sepak takraw team has refused to play against India in the King's Cup World Sepak Takraw Championship in Bangkok in order to register their protest against Indian authorities' atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

"How is it possible that the Kashmiris are being brutally tortured and the Pakistan team holds the Indian team's hands and plays a match," Pakistan Sepak Takraw General Secretary, Naushad Ahmed, is quoted as saying by Daily Jang.

"By refusing to play India we want to tell the 40 teams from around the world why we are doing so," he added.

Pakistan's women's team has so far lost to Iraq 3-2 and to Korea 2-0 in the regular event.

The men's team has also been defeated by Bangladesh, as per the Urdu daily.
