Pakistani leg-spinner Usama Mir talked to Geo News after his side's fourth ODI against New Zealand in a five-match series on Friday, where he discussed a number of things.

While talking about Pakistan’s fourth ODI win over New Zealand he gave the credit of the victory to the team management and the players.

“First of all, I would like to thank Allah for blessing us with a victory. The credit of the victory go to the entire team management and the players," he said.

He was also full of praise for the management of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for creating a positive environment.

“They have created an environment where each player is getting a chance, everyone is ready to play at first call," he said.

Speaking about his performance, after he took four wickets for 43 runs in 10 overs during the fourth ODI, he said: “I tried to carry the confidence management and the captain [Babar Azam] gave me, I tried to bowl at the right areas and Allah Almighty gave me success.”

He also talked about Pakistan becoming the number one ODI team in the world.

“There are no words to describe this feeling as Pakistan have become number one in ODI for the first time in history. It is nothing less than a dream that I’m part of the team that created history by becoming number one,” he said.

According to Usama, unity is the key behind the “champion mindset” in the team.

“The unity in our dressing room is impeccable. Everyone is happy for each other’s performances," he said. “We will follow the same champion mindset and the rest is in the hands of Allah."

The Men in Green became the number one team in ODI cricket after taking a 4-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand on home soil.

In order to cement their place at the top, Pakistan will have to win the series 5-0. A defeat in the last ODI on Sunday will see them drop to number three spot with Australia reclaiming their number one ranking.
