There was no proposal sent to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) members related to a five-nation tournament based on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI)'s idea, sources told Geo News.

Reportedly, BCCI is planning a five-nation tournament if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) doesn't agree to shifting the upcoming Asia Cup to a neutral venue.

However, sources said that nothing was discussed related to the postponement of Asia Cup 2023 in recent ACC meeting. ACC's president Jay Shah also hasn't called any emergency meeting on this matter, sources confirmed.

In it's last email, PCB ensured fool proof security to all participating teams in Pakistan.

On the other hand, broadcasting rights is also an issue if Asia Cup is postponed or cancelled.

It must be noted here that India refused to travel to Pakistan to play Asia Cup on political grounds. Instead, the BCCI demanded to shift the Asian event on a neutral venue.

But, PCB took a strong stance against shifting the whole event on a neutral venue. Najam Sethi-led PCB proposed hybrid model for hosting Asia Cup. According to the proposed plan, India will play all of their matches at a neutral venue.
