Quetta Gladiators' captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said he has no plans to leave the franchise in near future.

Speaking in a YouTube podcast, Sarfaraz shared his bond with Gladiators' owner Nadeem Omar

"I am associated with Quetta for the last eight years but my relationship with them is too old. I think since 2003 or 2004, I am with them. I guess I was just 17 when I first played for Nadeem Bhai's team Omar Associates," he recalled.

"I played for the Pakistan club and Nadeem Bhai saw and supported me during my growth as a cricketer. He is just like a father figure to me. I will not leave Quetta until they do," he said.

Sarfaraz is leading the Gladiators from the first Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition in 2016. He never missed a single match for Gladiators until this year when he had to miss a couple of matches due to injury.

Nadeem, Gladiators' owner in his interviews, often backed Sarfaraz as his main player. Before this year's PSL, Nadeem, in one of his interviews, reiterated that Sarfaraz will remain in Quetta until he himself decides on his future.

After winning the maiden PSL title in 2019, Sarfaraz and his team suffered to continue their dominance in the franchise league. They finished last year with just six points in 10 matches. Sarfaraz's personal performance has also remained under massive criticism.
