Indian cricketers will receive handsome salary

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its annual contracts 2022-23 on Monday.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja got a promotion in the contracts following his recent performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. 

BCCI announced contracts in four grades, A+, A, B and C. Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Jadeja are in A+ grade. 

Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Axar Patel are in A grade. 

Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill are named in B grade. Grade C features Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat.

Players in A+ grade will get INR 7 crore. A grade players will receive INR 5 crore. B grade players will get INR 3 crore whereas C grade players will receive INR 1 crore. 

Last year, BCCI announced that their women cricketers will be paid equally to men. 

The announcement came ahead of the women's version of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 tournament. Mumbai Indians defeated Dehli Capitals in the final to win inaugural edition of WPL.
