Asad Ali Memon, the only recognised mountaineer from Sindh, has set his eyes on the summit of world's highest mountain - Mount Everest.

With a mission of summiting the 14 highest peaks in the world, Asad is now set to march towards Nepal to climb Mount Everest.

In a press conference in Karachi, Asad said his goal is bigger but small steps will help him achieve it. "I have a goal to summit all 14 highest peaks in the world. Everest is my next target," he shared.

"Without government support, I have climbed multiple highest peaks in different parts of the world. This time it's Mount Everest and still no support from the government," the young mountaineer lamented.

Asad also aims to summit the highest peak in all seven continents. His journey of seven-summit started in 2019 when he became the youngest Pakistani to climb Europe’s highest peak Elbrus, followed by South America’s highest peak Aconcagua, in 2020. He then went on to climb Africa’s highest peak Mount Kilimanjaro in just 20 hours, becoming the first Asian and only Pakistani to achieve this feat. In 2022, Asad became the youngest Pakistani as well as the third from the country to climb North America’s highest peak, Denali.

His upcoming challenge to climb Mount Everest in April 2023 is tough but the mountaineer is determined to achieve it.

"Climbing Everest is always a tough task. But, I am confident to do it in April this year. I am the only Pakistani in a group of mountaineers who are going to summit Everest in April this year," he shared.

"I would like to request government and sponsors to come forward and support me as I am going to represent Pakistan," he concluded.
