LAHORE: Groundmen at Gaddafi Stadium took covers off from the ground after rain stopped.

Rain has been pouring down after regular intervals in the city since morning. But, it has stopped now, opening bright chances for Eliminator 2 to go as per schedule.

Squads of Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi have reached the ground for the match. The toss will take place at 6:30pm followed by match to start at 7pm.

Groundmen are busy in soaking water from the ground with the help of super sopper.

It must be noted here that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Thursday, announced to reschedule Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 final on March 18 due to rain forecast on March 19.

Taking to Twitter, PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi announced that PSL 8 final will now take place on Saturday (March 18).

"PCB and Franchises are anxious that the final should not be disrupted. Therefore, we have decided to reschedule the PSL Final from 19 Mar '23 to Saturday, 18 Mar '23. Tickets already purchased for the Final will remain valid," he wrote.

In Eliminator 1, Zalmi beat Islamabad United by 12 runs to keep final hopes alive. They will meet home side Qalandars today with a hope to play another PSL final.

However, Qalandars aim to defend their title and become the first-ever team to do so in tournament's final.
