The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rescheduled the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 due to the rain forecast on Sunday (March 19).

Taking to Twitter, PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi announced that PSL 8 final will now take place on Saturday (March 18).

"PCB and Franchises are anxious that the final should not be disrupted. Therefore, we have decided to reschedule the PSL Final from 19 Mar '23 to Saturday, 18 Mar '23. Tickets already purchased for the Final will remain valid," he wrote.

In a statement released by PCB later on, Sethi reiterated that the decision was taken in the best interest of all stakeholders.

"As such, and on the basis of available information about bad weather forecast, it is a sensible and proactive approach that we use the off-day and play the final on Saturday, and utilise Sunday along with Monday as reserve days. This will give us two reserve days in case the match cannot be completed or played on Saturday instead of the traditional one day,

“We have spoken with the teams involved in the Play-offs, and they are not only aligned to our decision but have backed and supported our decision,

“There will be no inconvenience to the cricket fans as tickets purchased for Sunday’s match will remain valid for Saturday’s rescheduled final,” he stated.

Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans have qualified for the final after they defeated Lahore Qalandars in Qualifier on Wednesday. Qalandars will now play either Peshawar Zalmi or Islamabad United in second Eliminator on March 17. The winner of that match will play against Multan on Saturday.
