PSL 8: Najam Sethi asks CM Punjab to ensure fans' safety during final

Lahore will take on Multan in qualifier on March 15

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee chairman Najam Sethi appealed to CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi before Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 final, scheduled on March 19 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. 

Taking to Twitter after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan announced a political public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on PSL 8 final day, Sethi appealed to CM Punjab for making sure the safety of fans coming to watch the grand finale. 

"Mohsin Naqvi, PSL 8 multi-million dollar final on 19 March will be played before 25k people at Gaddafi Stadium & 100m across the globe. This is Pakistan’s finest showcase. Punjab government must ensure failsafe security & smooth traffic flow to facilitate people's access to the stadium," he wrote. 

PSL 8 will enter its final phase on March 15 with home team Lahore Qalandars taking on Multan Sultans in the qualifier. Table-toppers Lahore will look to make it into the final as they aim to become first-ever team to defend PSL title. 

Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will take on each other in the first eliminator on March 16. Thereafter, the losing team of qualifier will meet winners of first eliminator in second elimination match on March 17. 

After a day's gap, the final of the mega event will take place on March 19.
