Amir joins Asia Lions squad in Qatar - Legends League Cricket

Pakistan's former international pacer Mohammad Amir has joined his team Asia Lions for Legends League Cricket (LLC) in Doha, Qatar.

Amir, after his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings was eliminated from the eighth edition, joined the Lions' squad ahead of their second match against World Giants. The left-arm pacer took nine wickets in his seven PSL 8 outings.

Giants and Lions were scheduled to play against each other in third match of the LLC. However, the match has been delayed due to a wet outfield.

Lions, featuring the likes of Pakistani greats including Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir and Abdul Razzaq, beat India Maharajas in their first game by nine runs.

Misbah, former Pakistan's Test captain, led the Lions from the front as they beat Maharajas in the opening game of the league.

Led by Pakistan's legend Afridi, Lions posted 165-6 in 20 overs while batting first. Misbah was top performer with his calculated innings of 73 off 50 balls.

The right-handed batter utilised his experience for the Lions and kept the scoreboard ticking despite losing batting partners at the other end. Upul Tharanga (40) was the only supportive hand for Misbah as they both scored 108 runs together.

In reply, the Lions restricted Maharajas to 156-9 in 20 overs.
