Rashid Khan bags four wickets against Islamabad United - PCB

Afghanistan's ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan proved his worth on a batting track after he took four crucial wickets for Lahore Qalandars during their clash against Islamabad United in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8.

After a high-scoring match yesterday between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators, Qalandars posted another 200+ score to ensure that Pindi Cricket Stadium's pitch was truly a batting-friendly track. Until today's first innings, a total of 709 runs were scored on this ground.

But, Rashid turned the tables with his superb bowling. The right-arm leggie bagged four wickets to help Qalandars bowl out United for 107 runs while defending 227 runs.

For his outstanding performance, Rashid garnered massive praise on social media.

Have a look:

Apart from Rashid, Fakhar Zaman once again led Qalandars from the front with the bat. He scored his second PSL century, scoring 115 runs to help the defending champions post 226-5 in 20 overs.

After deciding to bat first, Qalandars lost opener Abdullah Shafique in the first over. Fazalhaq Farooqi bagged Abdullah with a full-length delivery.

Fakhar and Kamran Ghulam carried the innings from there and that too in an aggressive mood. Fakhar, who is already in top form this season, smashed the ball all around the park.

After getting three lifelines - two dropped catches and a successful review, Fakhar managed to score his second hundred in the tournament. Alongside Kamran, he scored firing 122 runs off 62 balls.

Kamran managed to score 41 off 30 before falling to Mohammad Wasim Jr. However, Fakhar didn't stop there and completed his task. He also partnered with Sam Billings to score 70 runs together.

Fakhar scored 115 runs off 57 balls including eight boundaries and as many sixes. Billings contributed 32 off 22. Rashid Khan's quick 15 runs also helped Qalandars put up a big score.

After this win, Qalandars booked their qualifier berth with 14 points.
