The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is “shocked” at Sri Lankan authorities’ decision to not send their cricket team for a Test series in Pakistan, and will raise the matter at a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) later this month.

After a Sri Lankan delegation was briefed on the planned security arrangements, the PCB were confident that they had enough to convince Sri Lanka to send their team.

That, however, changed on Thursday when the Sri Lankan sports minister said that they have decided against playing a Test series in Pakistan and are instead looking for a possible ODI series.

According to Daily Jang, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has contacted Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials and informed them about his concerns.

The PCB, according to the Urdu publication, is unable to understand why Sri Lanka would back out when they have been promised presidential-level security.

Pakistan has been deprived of true Test cricket since the 2009 terrorist attack on Sri Lanka in Lahore. They have since been playing their home series in their adopted home in the UAE.
