Legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis has applied for the vacant position of Pakistan’s bowling coach, according to Geo News.

The position had become vacant after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided against renewing the contract of Azahar Mahmood among others.

Waqar, who has previously been the head coach of the national team on two occasions, is now reportedly in the running to succeed Mahmood.

The Burewala Express’ candidacy comes days before the August 26 deadline set by the PCB to invite new applicants for all the coaching positions.
