Veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik said he will think about trying his luck in acting if any good project is offered to him.

Malik, who has played 124 T20Is for Pakistan, shared his future plans related to pursuing acting.

"I can't say yes or no right now. If any good project is offered, I will think about it. Maybe I do some good acting work," he hinted.

The all-rounder has often done modeling and also recently hosted a celebrity talk show alongside his Indian tennis star wife Sania Mirza. The cricketer has a lot of friends in the showbiz industry as well.

Last year, Malik made a guest appearance in Mahira Khan-produced drama series 'Barwaan Khiladi'.

While commenting on the recent controversy on Shoaib Akhtar's statement about national team skipper Babar Azam, Malik supported his former teammate.

"I know Shoaib Bhai for a very long time. He gives blunt statements but he never tries to hurt anyone," he said. "I think his statement was taken wrongly. He must have said that for betterment," he added.

Malik also shared his point of view on the matter and said English shouldn't be the criteria to judge someone.

"English shouldn't be the criteria to judge someone. I am sure Shoaib Bhai was also trying to make a similar point," he highlighted.

'Babar is bigger diamond than Kohinoor'

Babar Azam's national team deputy Shadab Khan had said that it's injustice to criticise the cricketer who is currently Pakistan's biggest cricketer.

"I think we are doing injustice with such a diamond. Pakistan has been blessed with such a big diamond. He [Babar] is even a bigger diamond than Kohinoor," said Shadab.

"As a nation, we are not valuing Babar for what he is worth and are pressurising him. At the end of the day, he is human. We should respect him the way the world respects him,

"I am surprised when people doubt him as a captain or a leader. He is Pakistan’s biggest player. Our nation should respect him the way we respect him in the team," he concluded.
