Multan Sultans' bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed thinks that young pacer Ihsanullah is ready for the Pakistan team.

Speaking to media after Sultans' last Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 contest in Karachi last Sunday, Mushtaq said a pacer doesn't need much experience of domestic cricket before getting into international cricket.

"I don't think it would be early to include Ihsanullah in Pakistan team," the former Test cricketer stated. "Fast bowler doesn't need much experience of domestic cricket before playing international cricket. There are examples of Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram who didn't play much domestic cricket before making their international debut. And, they did well," he added.

While elaborating more on his point, Mushtaq gave the example of how a spinner and batsman need to play more domestic cricket. "For a spinner or even for a batsman, it is important to play domestic cricket more than a pacer. Because taking five wickets and scoring a century is an art. It takes a lot of effort for a spinner to take five wickets than a pacer. In first-class cricket, you play session by session and get time to enhance your abilities," he explained.

Mushtaq believes that a good captain can make a pacer successful. "A pacer doesn't need much experience. Only he needs is a good captain who takes care of his fitness and plays him according to his strength," he concluded.

Currently, Ihsanullah is the highest wicket-taker in PSL 8 with 14 wickets. The 20-year-old bowler impressed the PSL audience with his pace.
