Lahore Qalandars' management postponed open trials for hockey in Lahore due to Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8's security.

As shared by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the open trials, initially scheduled for February 24, have been postponed.

After organizing open trials for hockey in Karachi successfully, Qalandars planned to host trials in Lahore.

In a bid to boost national game, Qalandars brought their cricket team to hockey trials in Karachi.

Shaheen Shah Afridi's team visited Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) ground to watch the trials. Hundreds of kids appeared in the trials at KHA.

Complete squad of Qalandars took a round of KHA ground and also met some of the players who took part in the trials. Meanwhile, fans took selfies with their favorite cricket heroes.

Similar plan was for Lahore. Now, the new dates of the trials will be announced later on.

After the trials, Qalandars will host a hockey series between the teams of Karachi and Lahore. Shaheen will be the ambassador of Karachi whereas Haris Rauf will be in the camp of Lahore.

It must be noted here that Qalandars will play their first match at home on February 26 against Peshawar Zalmi. So far, Qalandars have two out three matches so far.

They made a comeback in the tournament after a heavy defeat against Karachi Kings at National Bank Cricket Arena (NBCA). At the same venue, they made a comeback against Quetta Gladiators after defeating them by 63 runs.
