The 34th National Games will be held in Quetta from May 15 to 23, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) announced on Wednesday.

According to the details, the National Games will see male and female athletes compete in 31 sports, while three sports — Futsal, Women's Cricket, Tug of War — have been included as exhibition sports.

"It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that following sports disciplines have been finalized for the contest of the 34th Chapter of National Games scheduled to be held from 15 – 23 May 2023 in Quetta," the POA said in an official notification.

"The events of individual sports disciplines are being circulated separately. Provincial Olympic Associations/Islamabad Olympic Association/Services/Departments and National Sports Federations concerned are requested to take appropriate action for preparation, participation and conduct of the games in a befitting manner," it added.

It is worth noting here that the National Games will take place after a hiatus of more than three years.

After earning 7,909 points with 150 Gold, 134 Silver, and 96 Bronze medals, the Pakistan Army won the National Games Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the 24th time in 2019, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was given the fair-play trophy.
