The Professional Football League (LFP) has rejected Hakim Ziyech's proposed loan move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Before the French deadline, a deal was reached for the 29-year-old.

However, PSG criticised Chelsea's actions, alleging that the necessary paperwork was not submitted on time.

Ziyech travelled to Paris in anticipation of a deal being finalised, but because the registration process was not finished which is why he will return to Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign.

According to BBC Sport, the player tried to address the situation by speaking with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly directly, but his efforts were eventually fruitless.

Additionally, this morning, the LFP denied PSG's appeal.

After passing his medical exam, Ziyech was awaiting his unveiling in Paris on Tuesday.

Ziyech, who cost £33 million and was roped in from Ajax, was the Blues' first acquisition following their transfer restriction in 2020.

However, in addition to the English attacker Raheem Sterling who came last summer, they have also signed Mykhailo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana, Noni Madueke, and Joao Felix this month.
