Former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke has revealed that he has been asked to commentate on the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Clarke revealed on his radio programme that he has been asked to call action during the upcoming PSL 8.

“I’ve just been asked to commentate on the PSL, the Pakistan Premier League, and you should see the internationals they’ve got,” Clarke said on Sky’s Big Sports Breakfast. “So many overseas players are going and playing in that tournament.”

According to reports, Clarke has been dumped by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India after the Noosa scandal.

It must be noted that Clarke was slapped by his girlfriend Jade Yarbroug during a holiday in Noosa on January 10 after they were caught on camera having a foul-mouthed argument.

During the heated exchange, Yarbrough accused Clarke of cheating on her with his ex Pip Edwards, and claimed to have seen texts proving it.

Clarke’s close friend Karl Stefanovic and others, who were also present on this occasion, were forced to intervene after the quarrel.

Talking about the incident last week, Clarke told the Daily Telegraph: "I'm absolutely gutted I've put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable. I own this fully and am the only one at fault."

Clarke featured in 115 Test matches and 245 ODIs for Australia, while also leading his country in both formats.

The opening ceremony of PSL 8 will be held in Multan on February 13 prior to the tournament opener between 2021 winners Multan Sultans and defending champions Lahore Qalandars; closing ceremony and final on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

Lahore Qalandars will attempt to become the first side to win back-to-back titles; meanwhile Islamabad United will aim to become the most successful side by lifting the trophy thrice.

Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will play five home matches each — one against each side.

Rawalpindi will stage 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each, whereas Multan will have five home games.

Rawalpindi will host the only double-header on March 7 when Peshawar Zalmi will play Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United will take on Multan Sultans.
