India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first against New Zealand in their bid to clinch the series in the second one-day international on Saturday.

However, Rohit took a while to announce his decision to field and told the presenter he "forgot" about the team call.

The hosts, who lead the three-match series 1-0, remain unchanged in Raipur from their opening win.

New Zealand kept the same team from their 12-run loss on Wednesday and skipper Tom Latham said he would have also elected to bowl had he won the toss.

It must be noted that Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 208 as India held on to beat New Zealand in the first ODI in Hyderabad despite a blistering century from Michael Bracewell.

Bracewell smacked 12 fours and 10 sixes but finished on the losing side as Siraj was the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 4-46.

Earlier, the 23-year-old Gill helped India post a formidable total of 349-8 after an innings spanning 149 balls and featuring 19 fours and nine sixes.
