PSL 8: Replacement draft to take place on January 24

The replacement draft for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 will take place on January 24.

After Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reviewed the international cricket schedule, they decided to hold the replacement draft on January 24. 

PCB has also approved the request of franchises to increase pool of players. Now, franchises will pick two players in the supplementary category to complete squad of 20. 

"Meanwhile, on the request of the franchises, the PCB has agreed to increase the number of players per side to 20, allowing each franchise to pick two additional Supplementary players. The Supplementary players will be picked in the Replacement Draft, which will take place on Tuesday, 24 January," PCB released a statement. 

In a press conference on Friday, PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi announced PSL 8 schedule. 

The mega event will take place from February 13 to March 19 in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. 

Rawalpindi will host most 11 matches, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each whereas Multan to host five matches. The opening ceremony will take place in Multan for the very first time.

More than 36 foreign players, representing 10 nations, will be in action in the tournament.
