Pakistan have defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets to qualify for the Super Six stage of the ongoing ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Chasing a target of 98 runs, Pakistan cruised to victory in 10.5 overs with opener Eyman Fatima leading the charge with an explosive fifty.

Fatima remained unbeaten on 62 runs in 35 balls with the help of 10 fours and two sixes.

Fatima's opening partner Shawaal Zulfiqar scored 32 runs in 30 balls. 

Earlier, after deciding to bat first, Zimbabwe were restricted to 97-6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Apart from skipper Kelis Ndhlovu, who scored 42 runs in 35 balls, none of the Zimbabwe batters were able to come up with a significant contribution.

For Pakistan, Anosha Nasir was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2-21 in four overs. Meanwhile, Areesha Noor and Laiba Nasir claimed one wicket each.

Pakistan won their first match against Rwanda by eight wickets, whereas they suffered defeat in their next encounter against England by 53 runs.

The top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stage, where teams will be pooled in two groups of six. Group 1 will include the three teams each from Groups A and D, while Group 2 will have three teams each from Groups B and C.

The top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals, which will both be played on 27 January at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom.

The final will take place at the same venue on 29 January.
