India's wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant tweeted for the first time after surviving a fatal car accident that happened on December 30.

Pant met car accident on his way from Dehli to hometown Roorkee after he hit road dividers. Luckily, the cricketer came out of the car, which caught fire, and was taken to the hospital immediately.

The cricketer went through surgery with the support of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and local government.

For the first time after that horrific accident, Pant took to twitter to thank his well-wishers.

"I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thankyou to the BCCI, Jay Shah and government authorities for their incredible support,

From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to see you all on the field," he wrote.

The entire cricket fraternity prayed for the cricketer who has represented India in 33 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 66 T20Is so far.

After MS Dhoni's retirement, Pant found his feet permanently in the Indian squad. He was part of India's squad for last two T20 World Cups.

Pant will now miss cricket action this year. Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had confirmed that Pant will also not play IPL 2023

"Rishabh Pant will not be available for the IPL. It will be a great IPL (for the team), we will do well but Rishabh Pant´s injury will affect the Delhi Capitals," Ganguly had said.
