KARACHI: Leg-spinner Usama Mir has been signed by Fortune Barishal for the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after he made his ODI debut against New Zealand at home.

Usama made a surprising entry in Pakistan's ODI squad for home series against New Zealand. In the absence of Shadab Khan due to his injury, interim chief selector Shahid Khan Afridi named Usama in the squad.

When this story was filed, Usama was playing in the series decider against New Zealand and took a wicket.

Following his performance for Pakistan, Usama was picked up by Barishal for the ongoing edition of the BPL. He will join his team soon after finishing the ongoing series which ends tonight.

In Pakistan Cup this season, Usama picked up 28 wickets to finish as top wicket-taker.

So far in his career, Usama has played 66 T20s and took 54 wickets.
