Fakhar Zaman scored a magnificent century against New Zealand in the third and final ODI of the series at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Friday.

Fakhar opened the batting with Shan Masood, but the newly appointed vice-captain was sent back to the pavilion for a duck.

Next came skipper Babar Azam, who was out stumped, which is the third time in a row in the three ODIs.

However, Fakhar and Mohammad Rizwan rose to the occasion and stitched a 154-run partnership for the third wicket.

The left-handed batter played a crucial knock for his side as he scored 101 runs off 122 balls, laced up with 10 boundaries and a maximum.

Meanwhile, fans took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to heap praise on the top-order batter.

Here's what they said:

It is worth mentioning here that Fakhar Zaman was not included in the initial 21 probables by the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) selection committee.

However, interim chief selector Shahid Afridi added Fakhar and Haris Sohail to the probables after a fitness Test at Moin Khan Cricket Academy.
