KARACHI: Interim chief selector Shahid Khan Afridi is hopeful for Pakistan team to win second ODI and three-match series against New Zealand.

On the sidelines of the ongoing second Pakistan vs New Zealand ODI, Afridi was asked about his future plans in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

"Let Pakistan win this match and then series. We will sit and discuss about it later on," responded Afridi.

It must be noted here that Afridi was appointed chief of the interim selection committee for home ODI series against New Zealand. The former all-rounder made back-to-back surprising decisions and selected a 16-member squad out of announced 24 probables.

Domestic performer Usama Mir got his maiden ODI call-up and he also went onto make his debut. Haris Sohail returned to the squad after almost four years.

Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets in first ODI to go 1-0 up in the series. When this story was filed, Pakistan were chasing 262 runs. They lost two quick wickets in run-chase.
