Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has said that Joao Felix could still remain at the club despite the 23-year-old being heavily linked with various Premier League clubs.

According to reports, the Portuguese forward wants to leave the team because of a collapsing relationship with head coach Diego Simeone. Several clubs in Europe have shown interest in the forward.

Over the past several weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Felix possibly joining Manchester United on loan.

In the winter transfer window, the Reds Devils are desperate to improve their attacking alternatives, and Felix has frequently been mentioned as a potential choice.

There have also been reports that Arsenal are also in the race to sign the forward as the Gunners are reportedly agreed to terms with Los Rojiblancos over a deal for Felix until the end of the season.

However, Cerezo has stated that he might still be part of Atletico Madrid.

“In life, there’s nothing impossible but it’s normal for João Félix to stay at Atlético Madrid”, he said.

He transferred from Benfica to the Spanish powerhouses in July 2019 for an eye-popping £113 million transfer fee, making him one of the most expensive players in history.
