Legendary French footballer and coach Zinedine Zidane has turned down offers from three national teams after the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Since the conclusion of his second tenure as Real Madrid's manager in 2021, Zidane has been without a team.

According to L'Equipe, the mastermind was approached by Brazil, Portugal, and USA after the FIFA World Cup.

However, the former midfielder has rejected all the offers.

Zidane had his eyes locked on being the boss of the French international side after the World Cup. But Didier Deschamps said on Saturday he will remain France coach until the 2026 World Cup after leading the team to the final of the last two editions.

Deschamps´ contract expired after the World Cup in Qatar where defending champions France lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout after a thrilling final on December 18.

It had been reported that French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet only wanted to give Deschamps a two-year extension until the 2024 European Championship but the 54-year-old coach had insisted on staying in charge until the next World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The USA manager's seat is vacant after Gregg Berhalter's contract ended at the end of 2022, while Brazil coach Tite left after Brazil's exit from FIFA World Cup following a loss to Croatia in the quarter-final at the Education City Stadium.

Meanwhile, Fernando Santos quit as coach of Portugal following the team's shock quarter-final loss to Morocco in the FIFA World Cup.

It must be noted here that Zidane was first named as head coach of Real Madrid after Rafael Benitez was fired as the first-team coach in January 2016. He won nine trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, including three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.

After the three-peat in 2018, he departed the club before coming back in March 2019 to save a Madrid team that was in trouble. Even though he won La Liga in his second season, he was unable to replicate his success on a continental scale. As a result, after the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign, he left again.
