The Pakistan cricket fraternity were delighted after wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed scored a century during the ongoing second Test against New Zealand in Karachi.
This was the right-hander’s first hundred since 2014 and fourth overall.
Sarfaraz scored fifties in his previous three innings but went on to score a big one this time around.
Pakistan are chasing a target of 319 runs in the second Test on the fifth and final day.
A loss would be their third series defeat at home in a season after going down 1-0 to Australia and 3-0 to England earlier this year.
No team has chased more than 314 to win a Test in Pakistan, which the home team achieved against Australia in Karachi 1994.
The first of the two-match series — also in Karachi — ended in a draw.
