The member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Shakil Shaikh has claimed that the documents regarding Pakistan Junior League (PJL), which were shared by former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja, are not “legally binding”.

Shaikh also asked Raja why he didn’t sign a definitive agreement during his time about PJL.

Last week, the PCB Management Committee, led by its chairman Najam Sethi, decided to discontinue PJL after claiming that the league incurred heavy losses.

Raja responded to the claims and shared details of the Memorandum of understanding (MoU), which could have generated handsome profits in the future from PJL.

"Reproducing the signed MoU for PJL. It confirms the value sustainability and profit it could have yielded to the Board… and most importantly young players development," Raja wrote while sharing screenshots showing the details of PJL's MoU.

The former cricketer also disclosed that franchises of the PJL were to be locked in by January 13.

Earlier, Raja showed disappointment over the decision to discontinue his brainchild PJL.

"All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and somebody who believes in them.” – Magic Johnson. It is so sad that PJL has fallen to vendetta politics & rolled back even though 7 of the kids made it to PSL 8 emerging category & 3 are part of Pak vs NZ as reserves," he wrote on Twitter.

It must be noted here that Raja was sacked overnight just days after the national team suffered a humiliating first-ever 3-0 home series whitewash at the hands of England.

But a change had been on the cards since April, when Imran Khan — a former national captain — was ousted as prime minister and replaced by Shehbaz Sharif.

Raja, a member of Khan´s 1992 World Cup-winning side, was appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in September last year.
