Bowling coach Ottis Gibson will not be part of Multan Sultans dug out for the upcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Gibson will be unavailable for the 2021 champions because of his "prior commitments" with Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

It is worth mentioning here that Gibson was appointed as Sultan's assistant and fast bowling coach ahead of the PSL 7 in January 2022.

Multan Sultans took to Twitter and extended gratitude to the former West Indies cricketer for his services to the side.

"Thank you to our bowling coach Ottis Gibson, who will not be joining us for #HBLPSL 8 due to his prior commitment as head coach of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Ottis has our warmest wishes and will always be part of the Sultans family," the franchise wrote.

It should be noted here that after winning the PSL 2021, Multan Sultans reached the final of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) marquee event but they lost to Lahore Qalandars by 42 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 27.

The much-awaited draft of the eighth edition of the PSL 8 took place in Karachi on December 15.

Sultans in their squad for next year's PSL have made some prominent changes as they let go of Imran Tahir and Sohaib Maqsood, who switched to Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, respectively.

Squad: Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah, Rilee Rossouw, Shan Masood, Shahnawaz Dahani, Tim David, Abbas Afridi, Ihsanullah, David Miller, Joshua Little, Akeal Hosein, Usama Mir, Usman Khan, Sameen Gul, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Sarwar, Adil Rashid, Arafat Minhas

The PSL 8 is scheduled to take place next year from February 13 to March 19 in Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
