Mohammad Rizwan has once again proved to be a reckoning power in T20I cricket following his massive record after cementing his place as an opener in Pakistan team. 

International Cricket Council (ICC) nominated Rizwan for T20I cricketer of the year for second consecutive time. 

Rizwan, who bagged T20I cricketer of the year in 2021, has scored 996 runs in 25 T20Is this year. 

He top-scored with 281 runs in six matches in T20 Asia Cup 2022. In T20 World Cup 2022, he scored 157 runs in seven matches. 

Alongside Rizwan, Sam Curran (England), Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe) and Suryakumar Yadav were also nominated for T20I cricketer of the year. 

In 2021, Rizwan was named T20I cricketer of the year following his scintillating performance in the shorter format. He had scored 1326 runs in T20Is and became first batter to cross 1000-run mark in this format.
