Left-handed batter Saud Shakeel has equalled Test batter Umar Akmal's record in the longest format during Pakistan's third Test against England at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Monday.

In six innings during the three-match Test series, Saud gathered 346 runs at an average of 57.6, including four half-centuries.

With his sensational form, the batter levelled Umar's record of scoring four 50-plus innings in the first six Test innings.

It is worth mentioning here that Saud made his debut in the opening match of the series against England at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The 27-year-old scored 37 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings, he collected 76 runs.

In the meantime, Pakistan are about to suffer a clean sweep against England.

The hosts were dismissed for 216 runs in their second innings of the third Test, setting a target of 167 runs.

England already reached 112-2, thanks to openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett's strong start.

Abrar finally secured the breakthrough for Pakistan by trapping Crawley in front of the stumps following an exciting opening stand of 93 runs. Seven fours helped the right-run-a-ball hander's total of 41.

After hitting 10 runs, Rehan Ahmed, who was brought in as a night watchman, became Abrar's second wicket.

Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes were both unbeaten at the end of play with 50 and 10 runs, respectively.
