Rehan Ahmed after taking five wickets on Test debut - England Cricket

KARACHI: England's 18-year-old spinner Rehan Ahmed has become youngest-ever Test cricketer to bag five wickets on debut.

Rehan took five wickets for 48 runs in second innings of third Test to help England bowl out Pakistan for 216 runs.

The young bowler, who is 18 years and 126 days old, surpassed Australia's Pat Cummins to become youngest-ever to take five wickets on Test debut. Cummins achieved this milestone at the age of 18 years and 193 days.

Rehan has roots from Pakistan as his father was born in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. He spent 20 years of his early life in Pakistan and then shifted to the United Kingdom.

The right-arm leggie justified his selection as he took overall seven wickets in the contest.

It must be noted here that Rehan wasn't picked in the initial Test squad of England for Pakistan tour. He was roped in during the training session in Abu Dhabi.
