Pakistan Cup: An old Umar Akmal returns with back-to-back performances

Pakistan's discarded middle-order batter Umar Akmal is gaining all the attention with his performances in the ongoing Pakistan Cup in Karachi. 

Umar, who was transferred from Central Punjab (CP) to Northern during the tournament, showed his experienced and performed in back-to-back matches for his team. 

In the previous match against Central Punjab (CP), Umar smashed 95 off just 58 balls to reflect his class. 

Today, he once again led his team from the front by scoring 49 off 46 balls including five fours and two sixes. The right-handed batter laid down a solid foundation for his team to set 216-runs target for Southern Punjab (SP). 

He has so far scored 167 runs in four matches at an average of 55.66. Northern's bowler defended the target to win their second match in the tournament. 

Umar will represent Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
