KARACHI: England's revolutionary captain in Test cricket, Ben Stokes talked about the future of their newly-adopted T20 style in Test format.

Speaking to Karachi media ahead of the third Test against Pakistan - starting tomorrow, Stokes was asked if Eoin Morgan's revolutionary style in one-day cricket inspired him to bring a change in approach in Test cricket.

Morgan transformed England's cricket in 50-overs format after their dismal show in ICC World Cup 2015. The English side worked differently in the next four years and lifted their maiden ICC World Cup in 2019.

"Looking back in 2015, yes Morgan reinvented ODI cricket. He was amazing and clear about the change he needed to bring. But that was a different format," said Stokes whose side has already won three-match series 2-0 against Pakistan with a Test to go.

"At this moment in Test cricket, we are focused to take players along with our plan. At some point, I won't be England's captain anymore, and Brendon won't be the coach anymore. Whoever comes in next, will have their own approach," the explosive all-rounder said.

"For now, being a leader, I allow players to go out and express themselves the way they want," he added.

It must be noted here that England beat Pakistan in Rawalpindi and Multan Tests to win the series 2-0. Both teams are already out of ICC Test Championship final's race.
