The owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, has vowed to bring foreign cricketers to Pakistan in the future.

The statement comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja called “Peshawar a red flag for most of the western players” few days back.

“Being a son of this soil, I promise the people of Peshawar and KP [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] that we will bring all our foreign players to play in Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium,” tweeted Afridi.

It must be noted that Peshawar's Arbab Niaz Stadium is currently under construction and the PCB is hopeful that it will host high-profile cricket matches soon.

"Maybe in another six months, we will have PSL matches there [Peshawar]," Raja added.

Meanwhile, PCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisal Hasnain shared that foreign players are not allowed to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

"Foreign players are not allowed to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan by their countries. They are asked to stay cautious," he told local media earlier this month.

The Pakistan cricket team is currently playing a three-match Test series against England on home soil.

It must be noted that England took full advantage of winning the toss — and their batting depth — to win the first Test by 74 runs on a dead wicket that offered nothing to the bowlers.

Rawalpindi yielded 1,768 runs in four innings — the third most in Test history — with seven individual centuries and five fifties.

The visitors also won the second Test in Multan by 26 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

England are on their first Test tour of Pakistan since 2005, having declined to visit in the interim years on security grounds.

The third and final Test of the series is in Karachi from December 17-21.
