Australia wicket-keeper batter Matthew Wade has been picked by Karachi Kings in the Platinum Category for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during the draft in Karachi on Thursday.

Wade, who was instrumental in Australia's T20 World Cup 2021 semi-final win over Pakistan, will be playing for the first time in the PSL.

Wade hit Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi for three back-to-back maximums to book Australia's place in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021.

The left-handed batter scored 41 runs in just 17 balls in that game.

"Wait o' Wade! The finisher is here," wrote the Karachi Kings on their official Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, fans came out with hilarious tweets while remembering his heroics against Shaheen and fancying a face-off between the two players when Karachi Kings meet the Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 8.

Here's how they reacted:

The PSL 8 is scheduled to take place next year from February 9 to March 19 in Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
