Shoaib Malik became the second batter to score 12000 runs in T20 cricket — PSL

Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik completed 12000 runs in T20 cricket during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in Pallekele on Monday.

Malik achieved the feat while playing for Jaffna Kings during the LPL. He played an innings of 35 runs against Colombo Stars.

After achieving the milestone, he became the only second batter to score as many runs in the shortest format of the game.

Apart from Malik, only West Indies' Chris Gayle has reached this massive milestone.

In a total of 485 T20 matches, he has now amassed 12,027 runs.

Malik made his T20I debut for Pakistan against England in Bristol in 2006. Since then, he has played 124 matches for the national side, amassing 2435 runs and claiming 28 wickets.

It is worth mentioning here that the 40-year-old won the 2009 T20 World Cup after Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the mega final.
