Pakistan’s hard-hitting batter Azam Khan underwent scans after he was hit on the head during Lanka Premier League (LPL) in Pallekele on Monday.

Azam, who is representing Galle Gladiators in the LPL, was hit on the head while he was keeping helmet-less against Kandy Falcons.

The cricketer was taken off the ground on stretcher. He underwent scans immediately at a local hospital. Franchise spokesperson told GeoSuper.tv that Azam’s scans were alright and he is doing fine now.

Nuwan Pradeep's slower ball hit Azam behind the stumps in the 16th over of the Falcons' innings. Azam's father, Moin Khan who is serving as head coach of his franchise, came to check his son.

Gladiators also took to Twitter to wish him a speedy recovery.

"Prayers for Azam Khan's speedy recovery!! He took a blow on his head while keeping wickets!! He's been taken for medical care, Prayers for you Gladiator," the franchise wrote.

It must be noted here that Azam is a seasoned T20I batter and is frequently seen in franchise cricket worldwide.

The batter made his T20I debut in 2016 against England but he only scored six runs in three matches for the national side.
