Pakistan batting coach Mohammad Yousuf has rued inexperience in the national team during the second Test against England at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

After being given a target of 355 runs, the home team needs another 157 runs to win the game and tie the series.

In a press conference after the third day's play, Yousuf said: "Our bowlers are inexperienced as they have played fewer matches. England team is more experienced than our team."

"Our run rate is going well, and the batters have also attacked. There are two days left, and there is no question of being defensive. We will go to win the match," he added.

However, the former batter believes that if Imam-ul-Haq's wicket had not fallen, the hosts would've been in an ideal position to win the match.

"We are confident as the match is 50-50 at the moment. If Imam's wicket had not fallen today, our position in the match would have been much better."

Yousuf added that the pitches should be such that there is a result and matches are fun like this.

Moreover, Yousuf, who holds the record for most runs in Test cricket in a calendar year, further added that as cricket is evolving the longer format is also being played at a faster pace.

"White-ball cricket has become a lot faster, so Test cricket is also gaining momentum. As cricket is getting faster, the players are playing faster in Tests as well," he said.

In their second innings, England were all out for 275 on Sunday. Harry Brook led the tourists in scoring with 108, and Ben Duckett added 79.

Imam-ul-Haq and Saud Shakeel's 108-run partnership for the fourth wicket helped Pakistan reach 198-4 at the end of day three of the Test match after losing three quick wickets.

However, Imam, who had amassed 60 runs by the end of the day's play, edged to Joe Root at first slip off the bowling of Jack Leach.

For Pakistan, Saud Shakeel (54) and Faheem Ashraf (3) will resume play on day four.
