Tite left Brazil as head coach after the five-time champions were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2022 after a loss to Croatia in the quarter-final at the Education City Stadium on Friday.

Croatia beat Brazil 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 in the quarter-final to qualify for the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.

After Brazil's shocking loss, head coach Tite has left the role.

Speaking less than two hours after their defeat, Tite declared that it was "the end of my cycle," and that Brazil will reassemble in time for the World Cup in 2026.

After Neymar Jr gave Brazil the lead toward the end of the first half of extra time, Croatia scored the equaliser in the 116th minute and went on to win the match on penalty shootouts.

However, Brazil missed two out of the four penalties taken, while the 2018 finalists scored all four to book their place in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.

In 2016, the ex-Corinthians boss took over as manager of the Brazilian national team, succeeding Dunga. He played in 81 games, winning 60 of them.

They won the 2019 Copa America and placed second two years later during his reign. However, they lost to Belgium or Croatia in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cups of 2018 and 2022, respectively.
