Deccan Gladiators defend Abu Dhabi T10 League title

Deccan Gladiators beat New York Strikers by 37 runs to defend their Abu Dhabi T10 League title on Sunday. 

After setting Strikers to chase 129 runs, Gladiators' bowlers bowled brilliantly to restrict them to 91-5 in 10 overs. 

Nicholas Pooran (40) and David Wiese (43*) led Gladiators to 128-4 after they were sent into bat first. 

After losing openers Suresh Raina and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Gladiators were under pressure but Pooran and Wiese released pressure off them. Former Indian cricketer Raina scored seven while Cadmore made 11.

Andre Russell also could only score nine runs.  

Akeal Hosein bagged two wickets for Strikers. 

In reply, Strikers' top-order failed badly as they were reduced to 29-4 in 3.3 overs. 

Jordan Thompson (22*) and captain Kieron Pollard (23 Retired Hurt) fought hard but the trophy went to Gladiators. 

Josh Little and Mohammad Hasnain bagged two wickets each for the winning side.
