Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at the hospital on Friday during the ongoing first Test against England in Rawalpindi.

Haris rolled over the ball while fielding during the first day of the match and felt discomfort in his right quad. Although there are no signs of injury, he is being monitored by the team medical staff.

According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson, Rauf will feature in the remainder of first Test.

Rauf is among four players who are making their debut for Pakistan during the ongoing Test match. Apart from Rauf, the debutants include pacer Mohammad Ali, leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood and batter Saud Shakeel.

This is the first time after 2003, against Bangladesh in Karachi, that Pakistan have handed Test caps to four players in a single match.

During the Bangladesh Test nearly two decades ago, Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Gul, Shabbir Ahmed and Yasir Hameed made their debut for the national side.

Earlier, Pakistan´s openers got among the runs on a placid pitch Friday as they took the home team to 181 without loss in reply to England´s mammoth 657 in the first Test.

At close on day two, Imam-ul-Haq (90) and Abdullah Shafique (89) were approaching hundreds when umpires called stumps with 17 overs remaining.

The home team still need 277 runs to avoid the follow-on.

The three-match Test series is England´s first in Pakistan for 17 years, having declined to tour in the interim because of security fears.

After the first match in Rawalpindi, the second Test moves to Multan starting on Friday, December 9, and the final Test of the tour will take place in Karachi, commencing on Saturday, December 17.
