KARACHI: Right-arm pacer Haris Rauf and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed are set to make their Test debut against England.
Haris, who leads Pakistan's bowling in white-ball cricket, was a strong contender to take place of injured Shaheen Shah Afridi in the home Test series against the English team.
The pacer has played only eight First-Class (FC) games since his debut in 2019.
On the other hand, 24-year-old Abrar brings experience of 13 FC games. He was named best bowler in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 which concluded in Lahore today.
Pakistan team is likely to go with three all-rounders in the first Test, starting on December one in Rawalpindi. Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf and Salman Agha will be part of the playing XI.
Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq will open the batting for Pakistan.
