Pakistan team bagged six positions out of 10 to finish as the number one team in Asian Youth Scrabble Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan team, after bagging the number one position in Asian Youth Scrabble Championship, received a heroic welcome here today. 

Hisham Hadi, Asian champion, alongside U12 and U16 champions - Ahmed Salman and Monis Khan - was received by Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA). 

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Hisham said Indian players were tough opponents but they fought hard to earn victory. 

"Indian players were strong, we worked hard to beat them. We are proud to defeat them on their home soil," shared the Asian champion.

"We were looked after well in India. From security to hospitality, everything was fine there," said Hisham who went to India Gate, Dehli after winning the trophy. 

Pakistan team bagged six positions out of 10 to finish as the number one team in Asian Youth Scrabble Championship. 

Hisham successfully defended his title by defeating India's Madhav Gopal Kamath. He took the lead from the second day of play with a two-day score of 1420.

In the team championship, Pakistan's Monis also made the highest individual score of 760 against the Malaysian foe.
